Default Brakes do not cancel cruise control

Hi TI lovers...
I posted this in Maintenance but got no response so I'll try here.
My Cruise control works fine and will cancel when the clutch is pushed in, but NOT when the brakes are applied. I have to cancel w/ the switch on the steering column.
I don't know the ins and outs of cruise control so any insight would be great!
Cheers,
Pete

Brake light switch. Back up to a wall and push brake if you see no lights then its not going to cancel the cruise
