Default HELP!!!! Windows suddenly don't work

Hi,

Replaced some bulbs yesterday - locked the car up - driver side door was not tightly closed (discovered this this morning).

This morning all of a sudden - windows don't work - power moon roof doesn't work. (ALL BMW OEM) 1995 318Ti

All the fuses look fine.
Disconnected the battery for 1/2 an hour.

One bulb I couldn't change was for the ac control unit - wrong connector.
Everything else works fine.
What gives?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

where were all the bulbs you replaced ? if any were behind the dash, do you think its possible that you damaged/grounded out a wire to something else?

No - just basic bulb replacement - glove box, dome light and the ac control light, but again, due to interface discrepancy - didn't do it.

And it is only windows - wipers work, lights work, , ac works, side view mirrors work - no radio, so no conflict there.

I'm stumped

Check fuse with a ohm meter. Even though they look good one can pop and still look ok. If you check with a ohm meter you might find that it is bad. I would check all of them starting with power window fuse first.

Also stupid question did you try to start the car? Is the battery dead from the door being open all night?

That is where I am now - replacing most fuses and testing -- battery is fine - door was engaged - just not sealed.

Just replaced the window regulator - and though it worked fine - maybe something is wrong there. - odd - but maybe

Thanks for the suggestions.

UpDate!!....

Ok ..checked the fuses, re-traced all steps prior to failure.
1. All fuses in engine compartment good..EXCEPT #1 -replaced, no current to fuse.
2. All window/sunroof switches are illuminated, when engaged, no movement.
3.Opened door panel - no shorts, stripped wires or disconnects

a. When removing and remounting ac control unit could I have shorted a relay? comfort or what has been called ZKE IV module?

b. Does the alarm, if shorted, screw with window operation? (alarm fob works, auto lock works, selective lock (trunk) works.

At a loss - -will likely open dash and replace relays (comfort and or ZKE module, but hate to spend $$$$ at dealer if that fails - -Ideas? suggestions??? perfectly fine if ....Duh!!..did you check this?????......

Help!
Thanks
