Default Cracked hood

This morning I was in the shower and I hear this slam I didn't think nothing of it till I got home today to find the crack in my hood and a box shaped dent!I asked my mom because she is the one who started it that morning. She said she had to jump start it while I was in the shower and she forgot to put the battery casing lid back on and left it sitting on the intake and to top it all off instead of slowly dropping it she slammed it!I hate it when other people work on my car without asking, they treat it like a chevy slamming the hood and thinking it's like all the other American junk.My question is now that I need A new hood I think I'm going carbon fiber, I have boston green I think it will look very nice with a carbon fiber hood and maybe a carbon fiber M tech lip to match.I dont plan on painting the the cf hood just leaving it in it's normal look.So what is everyone's opinions on this.Carbon Fiber and green might look alright.Any one know any good hood prices stock or cf thanks in advance.

Rice, unless the rest of your car is pimp.

Get one from a junk yard off a sedan, have it painted by a good body shop.

Do a search for carbon fiber hoods, this have been covered a bunch of times.

CF is fine, as long as you paint it.

It's an engineering tool, not a fashion statement.

I'd say paint the cf hood if you do get it.

do the same I did to my hood. make it look like an e46. now that is pimp. I'm not one to brag but it really sets it off especially when you have the ///M bumper.

Which hood cost the most and are the weight differences on a cf hood much of a change from stock. When you guys say paint the cf, does this mean the design of the cf will show through but will be the same color as my car?

I think cost will be about the same. I used my stock hood for the mod. But I did have to get the one piece that holds the grills from a 97 because it looks tacky if you use the ones from a 96 and below. Sometime the CF hoods are not made properly and they leave gaps in some situations. I thinks it's an acquired taste.

No, you are looking at maybe 500 depending on what body shop you go to. its nothing but sheet metal and bondo. Let me find you a link but it might be in german. http://www.bmw-style.de/homepage/tip...motorhaube.htm

It's about the size of a quarter and pokes up about 3/4 a cm. with a big indentation the size of a battery.Doesn't look bad now but rust is soon to come.

Edit- A car battery!

Well, dont feel too bad because it happened to me also but I did it myself I have no one else to blame. same way too I left the battery box cove on top of the engine and I shut the hood. Didn't even slam it shut. On the picture look at the far left corner where it looks like there was bondo there. That's whats called fixing a senseless mistake.
