Default Trunk light

So today, looking through my trunk, I saw the trunk light and noticed that it didn't light up. I tried to figure out the problem and why it wasn't working and I couldn't figure it out. I tried replacing the light and it didn't work. I also tried replacing the fuse, it didn't work. All the lights for my car seems to work fine. does anyone know the problem? Like is there a switch or anything that turns it on or off?

There is a switch on the hatch.

Sometimes mine does not turn on, or it turns out too soon. I press the switch plunger by hand a few times and that normally gets it working again.

Most likely dirty contacts.

If that does not work, you may need to replace the (broken) switch.

I vote for the switch also.

The switch is a grounding switch. To test it remove the one wire on the top of it and ground it to anything metal and the light should come on. If that works the switch is dirty or needs to be replaced.

Very simple to check

I like to mess with the kids and have them check to see if the light goes out. I have them get in the trunk and close it then take them for a hard ride Did it to the wife one time and she was pissed
