Pretty cool! | | | 02-05-2010, 04:56 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Florida Posts: 229 | Yea me neither.. It is cool! I dont know how much they go for. I was looking for one and couldn't find it. Never went to the dealer(don't need it that bad). Have you tried fixing those little things? I think you won't get as much if it's in that condition... The fading can be dealt with using fabric dye. I used 2-part epoxy to repair the broken plastic. You won't be able to get it back to "like new" condition since the fabric covering is ripped, but you can make it a LOT better. As for the broken string... you might be able to replace it with another similar piece of string with a simple bowline knot in one end. I haven't checked, but I assume that you can get the string off by removing the screw that's in the plastic part where it connects to the shelf. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! The other thing is, you can wrap it up in leather once its solid and no cracks.. it'd be really nice too... matching interior color | | | 02-06-2010, 07:01 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: LA & Colo Spgs Posts: 210 | No need to bother with fabric dye. Just go to the nearest craft store (your wife/girlfriend will know where it is), and buy some black fabric PAINT. Just spray it on, wait an hour for it to dry, and voila--like new rear deck. | | | 02-06-2010, 07:07 AM | #7 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | You call it paint, I call it dye... whatever. LOL I painted/dyed mine not long ago. I thought I started a thread about it, but maybe I posted pix in another thread. I'll look for that info. EDIT - here's the thread about painting your cargo shelf. __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH! The shelf is $347 list price. | | | 02-09-2010, 12:50 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Rocky Hill, CT Posts: 1,065 | IIRC Tony posted up you can get them new for $150 from the dealer, but it doesn't have the sunshade. __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. However this part lists for $347. | | | 02-10-2010, 07:05 AM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Florida Posts: 229 | Damn such big difference! I have searched everywhere online but I can't find one new(or used but not damaged). | | | 03-08-2010, 04:11 PM | #15 | Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Bridgeport, PA Posts: 87 | BMW part number is 51 46 2 268 849 and it's called a rear window shelf with sun blind. 318ti specific parts are not in abundance online...at least in the US anyway. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
