LMFAO at this thread! Man this takes me back when I was young

I wouldn't be surprised if the OP has an open diff too lmao.

I can imagine the OP or mav holding up the e-brake while trying to accelerate at the same time. You're locking the brakes while trying to punch a RWD car. lol!

Wanna learn to drift? Watch the drift bible.

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

no dude i wasent talking about that, im not stupid i know how to drive, i know who i am, i dont need internet forum fan boys telling me bs about what id like to try. thank you for the help motorhead. but on to the other people think what you want like i said i know how to drive, i was just curious to what happens in the rwd platform and the hand brake. im not a master tech, im not a mechanic, i can do simple diy's other than that i get people for the job, i.e. Tuners, and Techs.

no i dont want to learn to drift nor become drift king. i just want to have fun. i like basically every motor sport, who are you to crack on me for trying new things. i came from Honda's and will be going back in the spring, i dont need feedback from you forum junkies talking trash because i tried drifting my first RWD car. Im so sorry i offended you REAL drivers. if i wanted to have a drift car i would have searched for a 240sx. but like i said im not trying to be DK just trying new things out. have fun with your uptight lives.

Some people on this site think they need to b*tch pick everything you say and want to do on or with your car. I feel the best thing to do and what I do is blow them off, so you want to be a bimmer driver who enjoys the car and don't screw it every night in the garage have fun with what you do screw everyone on here who has to open there big mouth on everthing they read

no but it doesn't mean I go drifting around parking lots. Doing a swap doesn't mean that I gotta go around driving stupid now does it?so doing swaps has a new law now? What's the law? Your not allowed to drive normal or slow.

It's funny the op got all mad at me and I didn't even say anything. All I said was trying to give gas and ebrake isn't a smart idea. And I reffered the drift bible for drifting techniques not to insult the guy. That's why the video is there...to show and teach you. The op decided to get his panties in a bunch and get all mad at me and took his own perspective. Maybe next time he should read more carefully.

sorry hugo i wasent only getting on you, it was everyone cracking on me, ok so its not a good idea and i dont do it all the time i did it once then i asked on here is it bad, i got an answer i probably wont do it again, im not trying to mess up the car just testing waters, but i hate how everyone attacks you because your new to it and want to try it, i dont know why im getting all worked up over the internet and peoples opinions, but whatever like i said after winter its back to Honda's. BMWs are cool and all but its not me, im going to do what i enjoy. so thanks for the help to the few that actually did.

Wtf? I didn't mention anything about pulling the ebrake while accelerating.

And that doesn't make sense. Why would I pull the ebrake accelerating RWD?

PS: ebrake =/= drifting

Do you know the story behind that accident? Did you look at dates on that accident and swap date?

they are bascily saying, even tho u can do that, you shouldnt.. not only are you putting alot of wear on expensive parts that cost like 4 times as much as honda parts, but you really dont need to. when you are going around a turn, (its even better in a 5sp) just, floor it in a lower gear..

you wanna drift? if you are in, lets say 4th gear, doing about 50 in a stright away, your turn is coming up, slow down alittle, maybe 45, start the turn, drop it into 2nd, floor it.. counter steer, ... you will slide sideways, the rear tires will keep going in the direct of the front tires...

the big difference is, you need the ebrake on FWD since everything is in the front wheels. so teh ebrake swings the rear. so its HARD to drift, unless you force it.. with rear, its basicly happens every time it rains and you drive hard.. .. the rear tires will wanna go one direction, while the font are pointed whereever...

pratice without the ebrake.. ... jsut.. dont flip the car please .. =/ and make sure if it is wet, you have about 50 feet of clear space all aroudn you, because you can slide for awhile with poor tires ..

either way, its not worth doing since its not worth the money if you wreck it. ... and the cost to replace tires early.. also, bmw is normally taken as a upperclass race car... ie, expenzive car you dont treat liek crap, so seeing other people treat it like crap is kinda offensive to some.

(since i have my up for sale, i just wanna make it clear i never did the above to hurt my resale value.. =] i just know this since i slide all the time on my old tires in the rain)
