Hello all, I am not entirely sure what this hose is called, but my 318 is having a starting problem, and the circled hose (not my image) has a large crack in it. I am looking around trying to find it on various websites to no avail. Does anybody know what part number it is? Or where I can purchase a new one? Thanks! | | | 10-05-2013, 10:19 PM | #2 | Moderator Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: SoCal318ti Posts: 1,574 | So in this picture there is a hose and the rubber boot from the air intake, which one you talking about? Also, go here for all your part number needs: http://realoem.com/bmw/select.do | | | 10-05-2013, 10:28 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: Washington Posts: 46 | Quote: Originally Posted by lazoh So in this picture there is a hose and the rubber boot from the air intake, which one you talking about? I meant the rubber boot from the air intake, the larger one. | | | 10-06-2013, 01:51 AM | #4 | Moderator Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: SoCal318ti Posts: 1,574 | Quote: Originally Posted by 318fan909 Sorry for the misleading wording/circle in the picture. I discovered mine was cracked after replacing the intake boot. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 10-06-2013, 09:56 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Bethlehem, PA Posts: 1,106 | what year is your car? they are different for older cars (as in that picture). for example, the car in the picture is probably a 95 (maybe 96) but a 98 wouldn't fit. | | | 10-06-2013, 10:33 PM | #8 | Moderator Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: SoCal318ti Posts: 1,574 | Quote: Originally Posted by hotmilk400 what year is your car? they are different for older cars (as in that picture). for example, the car in the picture is probably a 95 (maybe 96) but a 98 wouldn't fit. | The link lists the 98 boot, I searched it based on the fact that he mentioned his car was a 98 and my car is also a 98 and the boot showned fits my car. | | | 10-06-2013, 10:41 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Bethlehem, PA Posts: 1,106 | the picture he gave us is from a 1995, maybe a 96. i didnt/dont see where he said the year of his car, so i assumed it was older as in the picture. The 95/96 as in the picture is a different size and shape as the 97/98/99. If he has a 98, then ya, the part you picked is fine. I just didnt want anyone to be disappointed in the future. | | | 10-06-2013, 10:56 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: Washington Posts: 46 | Quote: Originally Posted by hotmilk400 the picture he gave us is from a 1995, maybe a 96. i didnt/dont see where he said the year of his car, so i assumed it was older as in the picture. Sorry for the confusion, as I was unaware that the years made a difference in terms of the boot. | | | 10-06-2013, 11:14 PM | #11 | Moderator Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: SoCal318ti Posts: 1,574 | Quote: Originally Posted by hotmilk400 the picture he gave us is from a 1995, maybe a 96. i didnt/dont see where he said the year of his car, so i assumed it was older as in the picture. Always good to double check each other to avoid getting the wrong part!! | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
