I've had all my switches replaced, fuses replaced, fan and sensors so it continues to do the same thing, fan will not come on and car temp goes up. Does this sound like some sort of electrical problem to anyone????

Mine did the same for a while. Started troubleshooting by pulling plugs at the coolant temp sensor and AC pressure sensor to see if sensors were OK. Then it started working as advertised -- only comes on when hot or when the AC is on.
Sorry I can't tell you what fixed it.

Troubleshooting my 97 Slicktop.

Cooling fan comes on with A/C, but does not work otherwise
  • With A/C off it does not come on. BT reader says coolant temp is 94C.
  • Low speed should kick on at 88c
  • Benchtested fan. Low speed and High speed work.
  • Tried replacing HS relay #15. No change
  • Spoke with James, a culprit may be the coolant temp sensor on the side of the rad not triggering the fan properly. I'll get a sensor as I don't prefer to pull one off one of the other working TI's.
  • I'm not electrically inclined, but have a meter for testing simple things. Is there a reference as to how to test relays for proper operation?

Read through many of the threads to get a good reckoning of a plan to troubleshoot. What I discover I'll apply to the other TIs as they only seem to operate with high speed, no low speed, but with or without the A/C operating.

Thanks for any help here. Cheers!
