What else are they doing other than bearings? I was quoted 900$ to replace the rear bearings and front hubs, labor+parts. I know there was another 100 to 200$ more that could be saved by buying the parts online first.

The labor for this job does add up as most shops will factor in time to deal with stuck bearings ahead of time.

I also need the alignment, rear and front breaks brakes, and there was something else wrong, but i cant remember at this exact moment. but they want to charge me 47.50 per half hour. just to fix the wheel bearings its going to be almost 500.00. im just scared my tire is going to come off. its the front right wheel that needs that repair. i found partstrain.com
http://www2.partstrain.com/store/?PN...ND(universal:0) would this work??

Look up the part number you need on realoem.com. You can type in the last 7 digits of your VIN number and it will show you diagrams and part numbers for everything on your car. If you can't get to your car or have anything on hand with that info, you can also just enter the type, year, etc, etc and it will get you there, too, but is not as accurate for all parts.

I don't think wheel bearings changed between any of the e36 cars so you should be ok. After you have the part no's go the the sites mentioned above, or AutohausAZ.com and see what they charge. I have ordered from all 3 places and they are all very good, with quality parts and low prices.

If you don't know what you are doing to replace the hubs/bearings it can be a real PITA. I'd do the brakes yourself as those are easy, and leave the other work for a mechanic that knows how to do it, and has the right tools.

95$ an hour doesn't sound bad. I know shops that charge a lot more than that, and some that might charge a little less, but, 80-100$ is pretty standard depending on where in the country you are.

Front hubs for 500$ sounds about right. Doing front and rears for 500$ is a great deal..

I looked at the link you provided, and I've never heard of those manufacturers.. SKF is a good bearing manufacturer, and autohausaz has the fronts for $94 a piece.
