Shaking when turning right, hitting large bumps OK. This is a problem that is driving me nuts. The control arms have been replaced as well as the tie rods. I have been told that I have a bent rim, but moving the rim doesn't seem to help the issue. So a few weeks ago, I was accelerating out of a parking lot pretty quickly. I immediately heard a weird noise and the exhaust started making a ton of noise. Took it to the shop, they found a small hole in the exhaust and patched it. After pulling out of the shop, I noticed that the car was making some vibration noises when turning right. This all seemed to happen at once when I messed up the exhaust. So I had the control arms replaced, the tie rods were replaced a few months ago, new shocks last year. Still having the issue. I know it could be the rim.... So when I'm driving on the highway everything seems ok, unless turning right. When I turn right, there is a clunking, shaking feeling that happens. Seems to happen at all speeds. Worse when driving faster. If I put the car in neutral, the symptoms seem to subside, though still some vibration just not nearly as bad. If I put the car back into gear while going fast, the noise is the worst it could possibly be. Seems like when I hit a large bump, the whole front end kind of shakes a little bit. Also seems like if I hit a large bump that sometimes it makes the vibration go away for a short period of time. The whole front end has been looked over and seems ok. Like I said, it might just be the rim or tire, but doesnt' make sense that it's not as bad when not in gear. Could it possibly be a transmission mount or something like that? Any thought? The reason I think this is because it happening after accelerating out of the parking lot so quickly. It also feels like when I start the car, that it kind of moves or clunks slightly but doesn't always happen. Also seems worse when going uphill and turning right. If I put it in neutral, a lot of the shaking stops. After I get this figured out I can figure out why I'm getting a misfire. Last edited by Deitzel; 11-14-2016 at 06:29 PM. |
