Default Where to get a HVAC light bulb...?

My local parts stores (pep boys & kragen) don't have anything in stock. Where else might I try? Is there somewhere online that I can order it? Thanks!

if this is the bulb that lights up the climate control bezels, i got mine from the dealership, discounted with BMWCCA memebership.

If you don't have a dealership near, you can order online from www.bimmer.com

The part number is 61138353797

They charge at or slightly below dealership prices.

Good luck.

I believe it's also the same bulb as that which illuminates the ashtray on the ti so if you want to make sure you've got the right one before you pull the radio, compare it to the ashtray bulb. Make sure the wattage is correct by ensuring the base colors are the same. Can't remember if it's supposed to be gray or black. Of the two similar bulbs, the one for the headlight switch illumination and the one for the heater/ashtray, one is gray and one is black.

ash tray and HVAC light are totally different type. They are easily available. all you need to do is remove radio and it's within easy reach.

Have you checked? Maybe yours is different than mine (1998 ti). Here's from the online BMW parts listing:

61138353797 heater control bulb/socket

and here's from Pelican Parts' web site:

Bulb with Socket Base for Center Console Ashtray, BMW E36 3 Series, All (1992-99), Each BW-61-13-8-353-797 $6.55

See any similarity in those numbers?
