Default ti disease

lately these i feel like i got the ti disease, all i think about is the ti. how i can improve the car. even in school i just space out and imagine doin all mods to the car. when i come home, i get on ebay or other websites to look for parts. i get cleaning supplies, and stuff the keep the car clean and waste all my free time on this car. i think this is way too much obsessive. my parents get mad because i keep on trying to buy stuff online and they dont let me. and this became the only reason for me to get me a debit card just this week. and i already have couple of hundred dolars in my account. i think i will buy stuff online the day i receive my card. does any body feel the way i do. and another thing. i cant stop pussing the gas pedal. i constantly floor the car, and love to hear that engine scream and ask for mercy. love the steering the wheel and the rims. and the great lookin design. i mean i think i m little bit goin crazy. do u guys feel the same way about ur ti?

SURE DO!!!!

I can't wait to do all the little things i want to do to the car. I have already put new rims and stereo in. That will keep me occupied for now. But the ti with the ///M sports trim and kit is such a sexy car solid car.

They are a beautiful car.

I used to have a semi obsession about it lol. but now i just appreciate how nicely it drives and handles. 8 Years on and it's still a better car 2 look and and drive than a brand new car.

Word of advice don't drive it too hard, i crashed up on the gutter coz my tyres weren't up for the corner. Luckily no damage, I just had to buy new wheels! (which look damnnnn sexy)

Tough as nails the car, friend from behind said i literally bounced 3 times. Anyway the moral of the story - Look after your car and it will look after you!!

I too was pretty compulsive when I bought my first ti.
I bought a car cover before I even owned the car.
I wrecked that one a few years ago and bout a 96 ti.

First, you gotta slow down. The go pedal can get you into trouble.
If you really like driving, get involved with autocross.
First find your local BMW CCA chapter, then maybe SCCA autocrosses.

There are some cosmetic mods that I think the ti should have.
Rear ///M spoilers and if you have a M-Technic bumber, a front lower lip.

Maybe eventually change the shift lever.
But slow down on buying stuff.
Save the money for maintanence.
There is a lot you can do yourself.

Throughout the year I buy oil filters, oil, spark plugs, air filters.
I always have enough of the consumables in my basement so when I need to do an Inspection II, I already have the parts. It just makes it easier and seems like I'm not spending as much money.

Bro... I am proud of you for coming up to everyone and expressing publicly the feelings that many of us share but might not be too sure to post it or not...
You seem to be pretty young, (first debit card, parents etc... no offense)
I am 28 yrs old and I share your same feelings.... My wife HONESTLY has told me I am obsessed and I love my cars more than i love her...
I mean... 2 yrs ago we almost split because I spent most of my free time at the shop and working on my cars.... my weeks were a preparation for the Great saturday night sceene street racing and improoving every time!.
I spent most of my money on turbos, nitrous, tires, race gas etc, trying to sp up more and more my cabrio M3.... till one day this year, leaving the parking lot of Walmart a lady came crossing the parking spots and WHAMM! totalled my car.
So I bought a 95 Ti... and I am doinfg it ALL OVER AGAIN!!! non stop! better than before.
This is a hobby, a passion, the "bug bit you" and I and many here... the truth is WE CANNOT STOP. I am always shopping for something new, trading selling...

the funny thing of all.... my wife's 4D M3 is looking better than my Ti.... I think she too got the bug!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

yeah u are right about me being young, im 18 years old. ti is my first car and the ti used to be my moms car and now she gave it to me, so i really cannot stop looking at parts and nice stuff but cuz i dont have much moeny i cant buy expensive stuff like supercharger. but soon i will be getting 500 dolars for my work around the old hosue we own, so i will be gettin my stromung exhaust and new sound system and getting my windows tinted. till the house gets sold. i will be getting clear turn signals and little stuff. later maybe h&r lowering springs and that stuff. u got the point, im totally infected wiht the bug i cant stop thinkin about this car stuff.

im obsessed too. ive spent more money on repairs than mods though.

i wanted some car parts for christmas...my mom told me i was stupid for wanting to replace parts that arent broken...so im back to getting nothing for christmas.

i find myself browsing ebay and bavauto.com just looking at stuff i want to buy but dont have the money to buy/dont have permission to buy. my mom is paranoid that if i get an upgrade that adds any HP at all...that i will die. but yeah im obsessed too...im always thinking about things i want to buy for it.

my mom just reminds me how much it costs her to keep that damn car running. my dad loves the car and is sad he doesnt get to drive it much. my dad doesnt mind me wanting to get new parts but my mom thinks the whole thing is stupid.

have you been looking through my favorites? Seriously, I have all but 4 or 5 of those bookmarked. And yes, I too suffer from the bug, and taking it to the 1/4 didn't help any at all. Now I'm looking at everything I can do to make if quicker. Rims and anything else that would increase the weight of the car just went way down on my priorites. I removed the insulation from my hood, the spare tire, tool kit, and the shroud that the stock intake went through to lose some weight. And I'm looking at battery boxes to redistribute the weight. And that's just the cheap stuff I plan on doing.

I'm in agreement here except for replacing the exhaust because the exhaust lasts a long time. I did not replace suspension parts until the old ones were shot. It takes me a long time to consider upgrades. I installed a Quaife diff because my LSD was shot. I upgraded to a larger housing because I do a few driving schools a year. Replacing the LSD with the same one would only lead me to replacing it again in a few years, By replacing the diff with a larger Quafe, it will outlive the car.

There is definately neverending mods you can do, and it really is just a question of dollars. If I had 100k I would have the sickest M3, but I dont.
