Default Help with the shift knob

Hi, everybody
I just got new aftermarket M3 logo shift boot for my manual ti. I tried to replace it yesterday but I couldn't take out the shift knob. I believe is treaded and I have to untight it somehow. I tried really hard with no success. Is there anything special like a trick or something to take the shift knob out. Every advice is appreciated. Thank you

It doesn't twist off. You just pull straight up on it. It takes quite a bit of effort and it's best to not have your face over it when you do it or you'll break your nose. Just try to get in a position that will give you a good angle to pull on it, grab the knob and give a good firm tug. It should pop right off.

And let me just say this now. I know what you're thinking and you're all a bunch of perverts

Be shure and pull straight up in line with the shifter, If you don't you can break the fingers in side that hold the shift knob on. They arn't repairable... MY 80 dollar burl M3 knob met its end this weekend when my wife was cleaning the car... ouch.
