Has anyone tried converting the sunroof from power to manual? Mine's all thrashed and I'm looking to somehow make it manual Maybe use an old crank & guts from an '80's model??? | | | 11-26-2013, 12:45 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | The motor is bad or the mechanism (track) is bad? If it's the motor, those can be had for relatively cheap used. If it's the mechanism, I think all E36 sunroofs are the same so again, there's plenty of them out there. It probably wouldn't be overly difficult to convert to a crank but since these parts are rather abundant, it might not even be worth it to try. __________________ 1995 318ti Base - Cosmosschwarz/Sandgrau R.I.P. 1997 318ti Active - Alpinweiß III/Sandgrau 2013 328i Coupe - Le Mans Blau | | | 11-26-2013, 12:51 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: Jan 2012 Location: CA Posts: 37 | Good Call - Mine works when it feels like it usually with a little bashing it wakes up. I do have to take it apart anyway - part of it (a secondary panel?) came off track and is sitting in the roof somewhere... it only opens about 8 inches now. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
