Default i cant keep traction!!!!!

my 318ti does great when you are in a rolling start, but when i need it off the line all i do is spin tires and slide from side to side. i got an LSD (3.23) 18x9 e46 m3 rims on the rear and i still lose it. i've also tryed feathering the gas on take off, still all i do is spin!!!! i got into it w/ a dodge r/t 10 off the line and basically embarrased myself. but i took on the highway and then he wasn't s***!

Is this car new to you?
What kind of tires are you running?

I don't know which forums you frequent, but we like it when people write in English. That is spelling and punctuation. Unless English is not your primary language, please make an effort.

1. No, this car is not new to me.
2. I am running BFGoodrich g-Force tires.

And I apologize for my punctuation I didn't realize this was english class. I thought this was about people that enjoy BMW's.

It's both.

Are those tires Z rated and what is the temperature like where you live?

Right now it's about 38 outside. You are right it probley is to cold for them.

I was told by a Toyo rep that anything below 40F you start to loose traction. My summer tires are off my car Thanksgiving. Don't go back on until March.

Do you have very stiff suspension, particularly in the rear? That can make a difference sometimes. I think that slightly softer rear suspension that allows the car to "squat" a bit under power helps hold traction.

Not that I would suggest intentionally softening suspension just to drag race people with a ti, of course. That's not our strong suit.

Yeah I do have a very stiff suspension. I have Ground Control coilovers (550 pound front & 650 pound rear) with Bilstein struts. She does squat a little, but not much. I will agree with you, drag racing is not our strongest spot. We are way to light in the rear for that!

Maybe the reason u r having the traction problem is cause your setup is totally wrong,i think. 550 pound front and 650 rear??? The normal is your back to be aprox. 40% "softer"!

The reason i did that was because of how much it squated when i launhed, and because of how much the body rolled in and out of turns. I got the specs from Sports & Imports. He had done the same set up on a track car, so we applied them same set up. She handels great in turns, nice and smooth almost no roll!

i have tokicko illumina adjustable shocks...i have the front stiffer and the rear on a softer setting, allowing for maximum traction under hard acceleration with my beastly stock motor!

hmm yeah! its still cool that the car squats a bit if you tap the gas real fast though!

And it looks like you need some wiper fluid.

Mike and his team from Sports and Imports in Norfolk VA. they did a awsome job. There were some hicups right after the swap but they took care of it. It was mostly electrical problems. And thank you for the welcome, glad to be here. Your car looks great, very clean. Do you have any pics of your swap?

aceyx-Windsheild wiper fluid? Wow, you are really observent! ha,ha. I do need to fill that, Thank's for the reminder. And as for the driving advice, thanks. I was hoping it wasn't my driving, but it looks like it is.
