Installed my new Z3M shifter with ultra bent selector rod.. Shifted perfectly on jack stands!! Went to drive it and it would hit the driveshaft in second . Looks like I have to bend the shifter.

Also it's really really hard to get it into Reverse. I no longer have that "gate" feeling that stops you from shifting into reverse.

Mine arrives tomorrow... Havent looks too closely but it looks like the exhaust and driveshaft has to come out to get to the linkage

Just got it all fixed up. I'll start a thread or add to an old one with pictures I look of the bending process. I had to end up bending everything...

Nope. You don't have to remove anything else to take the shift lever or the selector rod off. It just takes a little patience and some cussing. The clip that attaches the selector rod to the transmission is the same as the one that attaches the shift lever to the selector rod. They'll both pop right off with a little persuasion from a screwdriver. If you want to remove the shifter carrier, it can get a little more complicated but you shouldn't need to do that to just remove the shift lever or selector rod. Make sense?

Passenger rear shock came off its lower perch. Somehow the shocks rubber bushing worked its way off the bolt sleeve and bolt. Turns out there was no washer on the lower bolt... Grrrr...

Pressed the sleeve back into the bushing and remounted the shock. All seems well now.

I got a good deal on a pair of Polk Audio three and a half inch coaxial speakers. Used them to replace the larger of the two speakers in the front doors. The oem speakers I replaced are about the size of a one inch tweeter. Used a dremel tool and heavy duty hot glue to fabricate housings made from oem plastic mounting parts and to mount the new speakers. I was able to keep the oem grills. The sound is noticeably better. If anyone would like more detailed information about this mod, just pm me.

Today ill be putting coated cross drilled front rotors on with new pads and wheel bearings... for the red car.
