95 Active:
  • Tested out Barrie's 91 Octane chip. Nice work!
  • Installed passenger side fender liner and pork chop.
  • Fixed drivers seat for sear forward function - Broken bowden cable. Took the cable from a spare seat I had as I had no luck at the yards. Sewed separating seam on same seat.
  • Replaced windshield washer pump
  • Installed clear corner markers and side signals
  • Replaced Auto transmission selector with one that had a release lever with a working spring.
  • Picked up primer and body paint to paint the gray rocker panels and the gray sections on both white bumpers.
  • Vacummed and shampooed carpet
  • Changed oil and filter - Mobil 1 10/30W. Found a SAE 1/2" oil drain plug had been retrofitted to the car.
  • Installed floor mount phone holder
  • Charged battery
  • Found a nice condition black leather center armrest I'll use when the center armrest console arrives from Germany.

97 Sport:
  • Polished windows to remove water spots
  • Cleaned open diff to reinstall and recover 3.46 LSD for 98 Sport

98 Sport
  • Replaced stock steering wheel with I believe a Z3 Euro wheel.
  • Refabric painted the rear shelf as it was starting to fade.
  • Picked up a Clown nose from the yards for install next week.
  • Collect up the BMW alarm parts for install this week. I'll connect it to the Clown nose mirror I picked up today.
91 iC
  • Rear window does down fine. Intermittent fail in coming back up. Replaced window switch with a known good switch, same issue. Thinking motor.
  • Replaced stiff visor
  • Received convertible top parts for install this week
  • Zipped around thinking I need a rear subframe bar to stiffen the rear.

Ordered parts for next weeks work. VC Gaskets, expanding nuts for x-braces and lotsa hoses for the 95 and 98 renewals.

I installed a new drivers door window regulator in the California today.
Also, installed a new brake booster hose in Zippy. Then gave him a bath in the rain.
Trying to decide a new color for a set of style 5 centers I have laying about.
Changed the oil in our 330cic.
Re-glued the clips that popped off on the drivers door of the California.

Front strut mounts and an alignment.
Installed a little under trim panel my car was missing.

I bought the intake manifold gaskets for when I do my coolant pipe some time next week.
Also patiently waiting for my new head unit so I can test out if it fixed my speaker issue. Then I can finally re-install my vapor barriers and door panels.

Cleared my check engine light with a Peake tool I bought recently from a fellow on the BMWCCA site. The code suggested a bad secondary air pump, but I can hear the pump run in the mornings until the engine warms up. We'll see if the light stays out. Has anyone ever changed out the pump...is it a reasonable DIY job? Cheers. John

Hi John! 30 min to disconnect everything and replace the pump. 2 on a scale of 10. I did mine about two months ago on my 97.

Finally had time to change fluids on the hellrot (oil, coolant, brake fluid). Car drives a LOT better now, I'm quite surprised that so little things can change a vehicles behaviour so much

Installed a new head unit so I now have proper sound balance throughout the car. It's a JVC KD-X250BT so I also have full bluetooth integration. Now I just have to get all the door panels on without breaking any more clips...

Replaced rear differential on my 1995 (Anuket) today. Used BMW XK Diff Oil and new bolts, etc. Also found out why my ABS light is on - busted ABD Sensor wiring. Time to order a new one.

Went to the yards today.

4 H&R Blue sport springs with a set or Meyle sport struts.
Speaker mounts, carpet pieces, a battery box lid, a smog pump, Walnut auto tranny selector knob, fairly new ignition plug wires, trunk seal and a sharp log saw. Window seal and wiper arm for friends.

The car was put down yesterday and was pretty much parted out today. There was a complete set of door cards front and rear in decent shape. Grey and light grey. Most all the standoffs were removed.

I'll install the suspension and misc stuff on the 95 Active tomorrow along with an x-Brace.

Autocrossed her today. Still not as good as the Star Specs on my car. Still wide in some places and not taking the turn hard enough at others. The car is still very twitchy on high speed (top of 2nd or 3rd) direction changes.

Swapped suspension on the 95 Active and installed a x-Brace. The purple H&R Sports went on the Active. I removed the blue H&R Sport springs and will put those on the 98 Cali with a set of Billy Sports.

I will need to add spacers as the x-brace is pressing against the M42 oil pan and transmitting engine vibration.

Also topped off the charge on the battery and installed the battery box cover I found at the yards yesterday. Cleans up the engine bay nicely.

Repaired the rear speakers for the 98 Sport. No more crackeling.
