Default e36 compact door removal help

i need to replace both of my doors on my ti compact but need a couple of answers.
when removing the door, the rubber boot in between the door, does that unscrew so i could detach my doors without having to play around with the wires?
also will my key fob still work with the central locking in the new door if i do not change the locking unit in the door?

Regards, gary
