And pricing... remember, would need it for the 6 cyl guage cluster not the 318ti. | Please provide pic of an illuminated cluster so I can forward the info. I am sure it wouldn't be a problem. | | | 02-13-2011, 02:18 AM | #17 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Auburn, Alabama Posts: 206 | I used to have a company that made those^ mk1/mk2 VW gauge overlays saved in my favorites. | | | 02-13-2011, 04:17 AM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2010 Location: Reading, PA Posts: 140 | Id be interested, especially if we can do custom illumination Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk | | | 02-13-2011, 04:41 AM | #19 | Member Join Date: Feb 2011 Location: PA Posts: 75 | Quote: Originally Posted by cloud9193 Id be interested, especially if we can do custom illumination Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk | I already know the bulbs can be changed for LED's. Take a look here. I know the bulbs are for VW's but Dave (Owner of Meister) says the bulbs are the same for BMW. | | | 02-13-2011, 07:16 AM | #20 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | unfortunately i don't have a picture of the illuminated gauge as i don't have access to a E46 M3 .... Also, does anyone have a pic of an E36 cluster with the gauge faces off? I would like to see what is behind the faces. | | | 02-15-2011, 01:04 AM | #22 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | Quote: Originally Posted by Mr.Squeelerz I'm with Marv, but I would need it for the stock 4 cyl Ti cluster. | +1 __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. Gauges will be professionally made and before your gauges are actually cut, you will get a "proof" to go over and make sure it is what you want. There are 2 ways to pay for the gauges. 1) Send funds as Personal, Payment owed and YOU pay the fees 2) Send $150 + 3% + $0.30 = $154.80 Send funds to Area 52 Project X at g mail dot com (obviously no spaces) PM me with your info: Name (real and forum name) Gauge request (color, font, pic, 4/6cyl., whatever) Shipping info Please remember, these are NOT overlays, they are FULL REPLACEMENT FACES! As long as it meets what I want. Gray background, white numbers, illumination is red and has a "///M" in the tri-color like the E46 has it... oooh, how about "318ti" in the middle? well just make proofs so we can see what can be done. - Marv __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit! The E46 clusters have a special provision with a bulb for that. Our E36's do not. I am working with Dave to get it worked out. I have been looking for a E36 cluster without the faces on it so I can see what is behind them to see if we can modify something to work. I just need a few snapshots of a faceless cluster. Any helpers?? | | | 02-15-2011, 05:36 PM | #26 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | You can just remove yours... what behind the face overlay is just a clear plastic that allows the light travel from the light bulb to the gauges to illuminate. on the 6 cyl cluster there is a spot where there is already a "///M" logo above the ASC light. You can use that light bulb to illuminate the "///M" logo iff that would make it easier. So you can have the ///M in the normal spot of the E46 and then have it black out when the cluster is lit up and then have another ///M logo that isn't seen in daylight illuminate when you switch the light on in that spot of the ASC light. (i don't use the ACS so its always lit anyway) __________________ -Theta Chi- Float like a cadilac, sting like a BIMMER .... my socket is just too thick and won't fit in the hole! damnit!
