Let me know. And pricing...
remember, would need it for the 6 cyl guage cluster not the 318ti.
Please provide pic of an illuminated cluster so I can forward the info. I am sure it wouldn't be a problem.

I used to have a company that made those^ mk1/mk2 VW gauge overlays saved in my favorites.

I already know the bulbs can be changed for LED's. Take a look here. I know the bulbs are for VW's but Dave (Owner of Meister) says the bulbs are the same for BMW.

I spoke to the owner of Meister and he said that he CAN make the E36 gauges like the E46 style!

Also, does anyone have a pic of an E36 cluster with the gauge faces off? I would like to see what is behind the faces.

The price for my group buy is $150. Gauges will be professionally made and before your gauges are actually cut, you will get a "proof" to go over and make sure it is what you want.

There are 2 ways to pay for the gauges.
1) Send funds as Personal, Payment owed and YOU pay the fees
2) Send $150 + 3% + $0.30 = $154.80
Send funds to Area 52 Project X at g mail dot com (obviously no spaces)

PM me with your info:
Name (real and forum name)
Gauge request (color, font, pic, 4/6cyl., whatever)
Shipping info

Please remember, these are NOT overlays, they are FULL REPLACEMENT FACES!

OUCH. $150? hmmm.... a little on the high side, but if you can get proofs of what it looks like and how it illuminates then i'll be definitely down for one. As long as it meets what I want. Gray background, white numbers, illumination is red and has a "///M" in the tri-color like the E46 has it...

oooh, how about "318ti" in the middle?

well just make proofs so we can see what can be done.

The tri-color ///M logo can be made without a problem, it's the lighting of the ///M that may be. The E46 clusters have a special provision with a bulb for that. Our E36's do not. I am working with Dave to get it worked out.

I have been looking for a E36 cluster without the faces on it so I can see what is behind them to see if we can modify something to work. I just need a few snapshots of a faceless cluster. Any helpers??

You can just remove yours... what behind the face overlay is just a clear plastic that allows the light travel from the light bulb to the gauges to illuminate.

on the 6 cyl cluster there is a spot where there is already a "///M" logo above the ASC light. You can use that light bulb to illuminate the "///M" logo iff that would make it easier.
So you can have the ///M in the normal spot of the E46 and then have it black out when the cluster is lit up and then have another ///M logo that isn't seen in daylight illuminate when you switch the light on in that spot of the ASC light. (i don't use the ACS so its always lit anyway)

If I had my cluster, I would not have a problem to inspect it. My car is currently in the shop getting the S52 swap done.
