Thumbs down How much should i sell for...?

I have a 1997 ti with 178k miles on it and it is in perfect condition. Everything works and nothing doesn't work. There are no tears on any of the seats, no scratches on the paint...ect. it is in like new condition. The engine runs like a champ. I have installed intake on it and thats about it. The tires have about 85% of tread left also and the brakes were just changed. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MUCH I SHOULD SELL FOR AND WHAT NOT TO SELL FOR? PLEASE LET ME KNOW BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA! THANKS
`ALEX

what does kbb.com or edmunds.com quote for your year/mileage/options/condition? probably go above that, but may be a good starting point. 5-spd or auto? i think bmw may be a little opposite the norm in that you may be able to sell a manual for more than an auto (unless the buyer is female :P).

Aye, sticks have a higher audience in Bimmers. If it is bone stock except the CAI ... KBB at your car's mileage and year is only 4,715.00 in my area (as a private party seller).
Autotrader's closest car, in mileage is $5,999.00 with 159k miles on it.

Edmunds is $6,319 with a bit lower mileage.... ... so... between 5k-6k unless it's miraculous.. but... the mileage is a killer.

i have a 96 with less than half that mileage.

one other comment, do you have all the maintenance records and did you or a good shop perform all the recommended service when the car indicated it was needed? this will (or SHOULD) help you to get some more money as it will be a paper trail of proper care and the due diligence of an owner who cared about his car. i would tend to agree with demeegod. maybe start at $7k to give yourself some negotiating room.

Totally sexist...but that's what makes the world go 'round!

My wife made me sell her "mint" low-mile automatic ti because she wanted a stick! 45,000 more miles on the 5-spd car and she loves it that much more!!! My family hates it now...nobody wants to borrow our cars because we only have manual transmissions.

hehehe .... i was just waiting for a response on that one!

actually, my mom preferred a manual trans too (she traded in my dad's old ford for a manual trans alpha romeo). go mom!

and i'll withhold comment on the "i love the stick!" ...
