Default Throttle Position Sensor Issues

Continuation of this thread and problems:
http://318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=42626

So after no luck in tracking down my OBD2 problems, I broke down and bought a 16 pin diagnostic port reader.

It tells me that my Throttle Position Sensor is bad. I bought a new one, slap it in, clear the codes and it goes straight back to bucking around. It throws another CEL, I read it and it's the TPS again.

Is there anything else that could be causing it to throw a TPS code?

Is there anything else I should be looking at?

It's not throwing any other codes other than battery disconnect, but that's just because I'm starting it off a jumper pack at the moment. Really at a loss as what to do at this point.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

You need to perform a continuity test on the wires and connectors from the TPS back to the engine control module (DME) at terminals 53 and 44. You can also perform voltage signal input to the DME at terminal 44 and ground while moving the TPS throttle shaft and see if you get a variable voltage.
Good luck.

Replied to you on FB but to mention here too. I fought the exact same code for a while. Replaced the sensor twice, checked for vacuum leaks and nothing. Then I tested even further on the vacuum leaks and had a pretty significant leak on Fuel Injector 4. Replaced the o-rings on all the injectors, since they all had to come out anyhow, and the problem was gone.

Hope this helps
