N54 won't meet emissions in the future and the N55 is cheaper due to the single turbo. Higher power too!

I was told it's a new design of HDP, but still relies on the same premise. There has been constant changes to the current HDP's and Piezo injectors. undoubtably still bad parts being installed on vehicles though.

The engine is good.. the HPFP is sh*t.

dave the 335is is keeping the N54 the 135/335i will get the new N55 motor single turbo

Yeah, that's what I understood the situation to be...the thread made it sound like the N54 wasn't being used anymore.

the n55 motor is the ****. it actually drives reallly well. sounds better then the n54 also. just drove one for the first time today.

the n55 will have a fair amount of mods soon. the n54 was created with a long list of mod options when revealed.
