Default flat black spray on kidney grill

hey i`m in jamaica where there isnt much internet easy available things if i order things from ebay it takes long n they charge an arm and a leg...like for instance i ordered a clutch kit from ebay for $280us n paid shippin for about $30us and wen it got to jamaica i was charged a duty of $15000 jamaican dollars/$176us...so i was wondering if i cud spray my kidney grills flat black?

I think youd need to sand them , as I recall the plastic chrome does not take paint well....

wat grade sand paper u recommend and is spray paint usable

I use the NAPA brand spray paint for this kind of work, or Rustoleum Hard primer topped with their flat black paint.

The last one I sanded I used 200 grit to break up the chrome finish, the paint leveled the surface fine.

I used rubbing alcohol to clean it up, primed it a few times, then painted it. Finished it with clear coats. 2 years of harsh storms, 1 very bad hail storm, and the Texas heat, and it still looks perfect. Didn't do any sanding. So paint does well on chrome.

are all your guys grills in good condition? just looking at removing mine seems like it's going to snap.
