If you haven't already purchased a DASC, you've missed your chance. Downing Atlanta is now sold out of the last of their stock of Eaton Gen 3 MP62s, Magnuson has discontinued that supercharger and Downing is not interested in investing the time/$ to retool the entire kit for a different supercharger. If I hear any new information from Jim, I'll let you guys know, but it appears to be the end of an era | | | 04-11-2008, 09:45 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Eugene Oregon Posts: 6,182 | ohh god that is a sad sad update! looks like the only way to go about these will be used __________________ -Josh Sold-1995 318ti, Club Sport, Hellrot Sold-1996 318ti, Active Model, Boston Green Current- 1995 318ti, sport model, schwartz | | | 04-11-2008, 09:59 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | used or custom built, but that will prolly cost a little more | | | 04-12-2008, 02:55 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: Hilliard, Ohio Posts: 122 | Yes, it is a bummer. I just had three kits ship out to customers and was informed when ordering the third that it was the last one ever. Jim did tell me that understeer.com has sold more DASCs than any of their other vendors, so that was kind of cool though. | | | 04-12-2008, 03:13 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: New Orleans Posts: 970 | man i was hoping on getting a new one when i was older, guess ill have to find a used one when the time comes __________________ ^being rebuilt^ until then: daily car: 96' Blue DASC'd ti with koni coilovers slowly progressing... weekend car: 85 1/2' 944 Porsche no a/c, p/s, gutted cat, loud as hell exhaust, loud as hell sound system | | | 04-12-2008, 03:32 AM | #6 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Hmmm... changes the answer to the perennial question "should I buy a DASC or do an engine swap?" doesn't it? ;-) __________________ Real men know how to SEARCH!
