The diode only allows the power to flow in one direction, like a check valve. Be sure it is rated for the amperage (volts [12] / bulb wattage [55] = ~4.6 amps, so if the bulbs are 55, you need a diode rated for at least 5 amps. If you have 100 watt bulbs, you need a diode rated for 8.5 amps minimum (I'd probably go 10 amp rating in either case). Shrink tube over the entire diode and the solder connections on each end to protect it all. It may not be a bad idea to add a fuse in this line as well (again, following amperage guide above, but try to get as close to the amperage as possible with the fuse, whereas the diode can be much higher safely). Foglights don't work with the high beams and probally would be a pain in the ass to hook up. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
