Exclamation Air Bag code 3 (ECU power supply)

i have a 97 318ti. the airbag light is on for code 3 ecu power supply. does anyone have any test procedure or advice. if so that would help a lot. i cleared the code and it came back a week and a half later, so i don't know if it is a big deal or what.

thanks

Back From The Dead Thread....

My SRS light lit up continuously this past weekend. I brought it into my local mechanic and there were three codes ... he wrote them down and I'll get the exact description on Friday, but one had something to do with the driver side seatbelt, the second the same as the first only passenger side. The third was "ECU Power Supply" and we couldn't figure that one out.

Anyway, he erased the codes and the light is now off. Think it's going to come right back on? Could the gauge cluster swap have anything to do with it? I always disconnected the battery before working on it. The ABS light was constantly on with the new cluster, but when I put the old cluster back in, it was no longer on (the bulb is good ... it illuminates when the key is first turned). The SRS light didn't come on until several days after the swap.

Any ideas?
