I made my own rear BBK at home using self made aluminum adapters, used E36 M3 rear calipers and 1 series rear rotors. Made a few modifications and presto. Spent $150 total. Too much rear brake will make the car handle like crap under braking. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 11-17-2013, 04:44 AM | #51 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti What are you running up front? I need new rotors and wheels. So time for upgrades. Down the road I plan on an m52 swap and would like bigger brakes when I do that swap. With proper pads and fluid, no fade. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 11-19-2013, 12:36 AM | #54 | Member Join Date: May 2013 Location: Scottsdale, AZ Posts: 51 | Ok cool but if I have to spend the money replacing my brakes (which I do) I would rather spend some more and upgrade for both looks and performance. At some point, when ever track days start locally again, I wold like to run autox for fun in my car. I guess my question still stands, will the Ireland kit work on the ti? If not, Marv17, how did you make an adapter plate for the m3 brakes? I am very novice but have an experienced BMW mechanic helping me. | | | 11-19-2013, 06:40 AM | #55 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | Quote: Originally Posted by killergopher Ok cool but if I have to spend the money replacing my brakes (which I do) I would rather spend some more and upgrade for both looks and performance. He has a mill machine. We made them in three days, working on it for a few hrs each day. Had to modify the carriers a bit to work fully but it's been 3 months and they hold up great. I got the aluminum for free, aircraft grade T7050 or something. I still hv the autocad files for it somewhere I think. The only ones I've seen available for the E36 M3 rear brake upgrade on TI are from a company in Germany, they're not even that great in quality. | | | 11-21-2013, 04:20 PM | #60 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: NJ Posts: 110 | Quote: Originally Posted by Marv17 I made my own rear BBK at home using self made aluminum adapters, used E36 M3 rear calipers and 1 series rear rotors.
