Just Sea Foam'd my engine - Page 7

HAHAH so i just seafoamed my engine through the brake booster line and that thing smoked like a mother clucker, i mean my neighbors were pissed off all staring hahaha, i cant believe how much better she runs now i mean the idle is great!! theres no more hesitation when i hit the gas!! and shes all around much quicker, i love it!! highly suggest to any car over 100,000

Hey guys ,
am wondering if seafoam can harm my engine on a 1996 318 ti
It has 180k on it but it dose drive perfect . The only concern is that when I open the engine cap to do the oil change I can see the gunk in it .
Am afraid if I use seafoam it will clean it and then the pistons will have some play in the chamber . Please help , is it worth to try it ?

Hahah unless your pistons came out of a gunk factory I think we can say they were clean to begin with so I bet cleaning them again wouldn't hurt anything

seafoam will cause major problems. i would highly recommend not using it. you will fry piston rings and loosen up all the carbon build up that is keeping your seals tight. your better off slowly spraying water into the intake manifold and basically creating a steam cleaner in your cylinders. only spray a little bit at a time. and btw your going to mess up your cat using either method if you have a lot of gunk built up in there so get ready to buy a new one...

Water is terrible for your engine!!! and unless you have some crazy amount of build up its not going to clog up the cat
