Fogg'd Airbox Probably been done to death, but thought I would add my own experience. Did the Fogg mod over the weekend. Not sure if I've done it exactly like everyone else. Instead of cutting into the duct next to the fog light I've come through the plastic shroud at the bottom of the radiator and sucking air from beneath the license plate. Did some testing today with my OBD scanner/logger. Reasonably warm and sunny day here today. With the stock intake open and Fogg intake blocked, the best temp recorded was 31 Deg Celsius with Average around 32/33 Deg Celsius. With the Fogg intake and stock intake open the best temp was 27 Deg Celsius with average 28/29 Deg Celsius. Didn't get time to run the stock intake blocked, but I would say probably another 1 or 2 degrees of temp could be dropped. Interestingly logged the MAF readings and got a peak airflow of 111 g/s which using the old ready reckoner of airflow divided by 0.8 gives 138 ish HP so not bad for an old engine - hasn't lost too much power. I will do some more logging with various intake configurations and see what the results are. Next step will be to move the air temp sensor into a better position where it can actually read the air flow not the top of the filter box. Cheers, Andrew |
