Default ran threw a big puddle... HELP!

So I ran threw a big puddle and now my car is running very weird. When I say weird I mean that it is idling very strange and it seems almost like my car is back firing when I try to give it some gas. there was some water in the 2 cylinders closest to the firewall meaning when I took the spark plug wires out there was water all inside the hole. I was able to get the water out by sticking a socket extension with a rag on the end to hole. I got the car to start after that and it seemed to be running little bit better after that but still running very bad. Then I changed the spark plugs to see if that would help and nothing. I barrowed the tool to check what codes came up from the check engine light from a friend and the codes where all cylinder misfires. Now my question is; is the engine bad or is it like a simple electrical problem. Any help would be great! Thanks

I did something similar to this when I was 14. I was attempting to clean my engine bay and I sprayed water everywhere and experienced very similar symptoms.

Let it sit overnight and let everything dry out and 9 times out of 10 it will run fine.

I wish it was that simple lol! It has been sitting for a few weeks now and nothing. But thanks! Anyone have any other suggestions?

You ran through a big puddle and you're car is idling weird. Are you running a CAI?

And I don't think letting the car dry will fix the problem. If you sucked up water from the CAI, you might need a new engine or at the very least a MAFS.

How deep exactly was this puddle?

I'm not sure how water made it's way into the cylinders. Try this...

Good stuff. Also look for fuel additives that remove water. Your local autozone/whatever should carry something like that.

I would have a look around the underside as well. Just make sure you're using the correct procedures for putting your car on jacks. If needed, I'll elaborate.

I stalled once in a puddle deep enough for water to come over the door sills (E30). Car ran like crap. I couldn't figure it out either and ended up taking it to my mechanic. Apparently, the crank position sensor shorted out and fried. Check your CPS.
