Default E28 M5 engine w/harness FS

Hello all,
I have a 1988 E28 M5 engine (WBSDC9300J2875277) for sale from my used-to-be daily driver. The car and engine have 148777 original miles. The motor runs great, but I bought another E28 M5 that is much better cosmetically, and I have no need for 2 engines. I am parting this one out because the previous owner damaged and bondoed every body panel (including the roof!) by driving it through a garage door, and I need the interior for my other cars. I regularly changed the oil with synthetic and have recently adjusted the valves. I can pull the motor out at any time, but it is still in the car in running condition.

Price: $2400 OBO Included: Engine (long block,) wiring harness, intake and exhaust manifolds. Ask about other parts (starter, alternator, PS pump, A/C compressor, etc.) if you want this to swap into a non-M5.

The transmission CORE is also available for sale- it needs synchros, make offer. Only a few other M5 specific body/interior/drivetrain parts are available, as most of them will be taken for my other cars, but feel free to ask. PM me or email me at donotspam_mooseheadm5@yahoo.com (remove the first bit including the _) for info.

It would be DIFFICULT, but, yes, it can be done. I have seen them in E30s and even a 2002! I just put it here since many of us have multiple cars.

Nope. IF you blow it up, yes, it is expensive. Straight replacement of pistons, bearings, timing chain, and rebuild an undamaged head is much, much less than that. Of course, mine runs great and does not need a rebuild, which is why someone that has munched theirs would be interested. Any actually good info or questions to post, or are you just here to $h!t on my listing?
