haha time to revive a dead thread. those cameras are easy to get past. you can get the ticket. they mail it to you after 30 days or some thing. then they try to deliver it a few time and give up after 2 or 3 attempts. just dont open the door after getting flashed unless your expecting someone. i got 2 radar tickets, 1 for doing 66 in the 55(i thought it was a 65 zone) and i got one for doing 85 in the 65 (was my fault i was late for a church event, gods more important that the law right? ha good justification) too bad for the government those tickets got sent to dad forclosed house and no one lives there to receive them... then i got stopped going to work once. that one i couldnt get out of.. i got into too much trouble in my dads e39 :l 3.0 has more power than i though i guess.

Do you follow any laws?
I'm not saying I don't speed, but to make excuses?
Same for removing your cat in your other thread.
You think tickets won't catch up to you?

they will one day. i follow laws lol. honestly one of my tickets is justifiable. i seriously thought i was in a 65. 90% of the freeways in az are 65mph zones. and the cats i was asking if it was legal to run without them. im not saying i will run with out them if its illegal. im not stupid to get knocked for some stupid cat violation.

I have semi-recent experience contesting a speeding ticket here in Texas, where limits are presumed. The sad part is that I actually wasn't even traveling above the posted speed; doing 60ish in a 65 at night driving my girlfriend's car. My plea was Not Guilty -- had a witness, recorded objection to the officer's claim that I was going 75, was very courteous, had recent inspection data, and made a great case in traffic court.
I even had the hearing rescheduled twice in hopes that the officer would miss the case or not remember much about the event [which he didn't].

Despite everything, there was no chance in hell the judge was going to rule in my favor. Traffic cops are nothing more than tax collectors 99.9% of the time, and the rest of the system is completely inflexible -- even when they've made a mistake. They try you "objectively", even though they're the plaintiff. You can't win!

oh and if you do have to get to the point where your ticket sends you to court you can fight it saying its unconstitutional. something about an officer didnt rightfully serve you the ticket at the time of the "crime" and you should be good. but ill talk to my cousin he's the one who told me about that. oh and btw steven, those tickets were the last of my tickets. i got them in april and may and havent gotten any moving violations since. well i havent gotten any violations since then, not just moving.

The speed camera tickets aren't moving violations here, since they cannot prove you were driving. Pretty hefty fines though. They use permanantly installed cameras on the sides of the road and cameras mounted on cars, trucks, and vans...

As for the tag covers, in MD anything mounted over the plate, clear or not is illegal. Same goes for any lights on the cars.

On an interesting side note, the cameras here were donated. The company that makes them gets a percentage of the fines. They make MILLIONS.

i think ddm sells this spray you can spray on your plate. it gives it a rough feel like a rhinoliner bedliner but its not visible. and it blocks the cams.

A warning on the spray - it turns yellow after some months in the sun. Looks awful and obvious.

Your cousin Vinny?

I got a $50 ticket for photo reflective film on the rear plate in Maryland.
The cop was so pissed about that, he gave me a $50 ticket for no front plate.
Then he wanted me to take the film off right there.
I didn't have the hex wrench to remove the plate cover.
The prick tells me to bring it to the police station.
I tell him no. If it is indeed illegal I will remove it, but it is my property.
I am not giving it to anyone.

I've been stopped plenty of times before and realize cops are just doing their job. I can't think of anytime where I was in the right. But this cop was such a dick!

I'm so glad I moved!

EDIT
I've thought about taking a photo flash and mounting it just above my rear license plate with a dash switch for a triggered burst/extended flash but still haven't followed through on the idea. This would really only deprive toll authorities of their revenue... but it's a safe bet that it'd work.

Old post, but we got rid of these. It was a cost issue. Some cities still use photo radar, but the State no longer does.
