The roof scoop is an air intake, but I'm not sure what for (you can see a tube running from the passenger C pillar). I agree about the fascia though. Is that from a Z3? __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 02-08-2007, 07:26 PM | #10 | Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Fort Riley, KS <-> Haverhill, MA Posts: 91 | Looks almost like an E46 330ci __________________ | | | 02-08-2007, 07:44 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Melbourne, Fl/Athens, AL Posts: 393 | The bumper is a copy of the E46 M-tech 2 bumper, found on the ZHP's. Also, roof scoops on rally cars are typically used for getting airflow into the cabin, as you can imagine how hot it probably gets in there when driving. __________________ -Kenny | | | 02-08-2007, 08:38 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Los Alamos, NM Posts: 344 | i agree with crewdog, the spoiler is absurd, but the other body work is sweet | | | 02-08-2007, 09:10 PM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | Given that this is a rally car with a lot of horsepower the rear wing is probably needed to get a high enough amount of downforce to keep the rear wheels from slipping. I don't think the price is that far out of line, well prepped BMW race cars can sell for well over $30-50k.. A well maintained, well tuned, racing S14 is major money.. not to mention that ohlins are major money.. Sequential 6 speed... all items that cost atleast $5k a piece... I've seen cars for sale on the BMWCCA club racing website that were raced by turnermotorsports or bimmerworld sell for major money. And those usually have the really good racing gear removed. Given that this car is being driven in a professional series I would imagine it has a lot of stuff done to it that you can't see in these pictures. As for the red things on the side of the car.. they look like they are just there to cover the jacking holes. | | | 02-08-2007, 09:31 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Portland Oregon Posts: 1,363 | So worth it! | | | 02-08-2007, 09:58 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Pittsburgh, PA Posts: 1,224 | where do you ppl see the price? | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
