Default Hole near foglight

You guys know that little vent hole, thing near the foglight? Well i was in the process of fogging the airbox and didnt want to drill, so i was looking for a place to put the hsoe through, so i didnt have to drill. I just pulled out the little curved cone thing that leads to the wheel well/hole next to foglight. What i was wondering is if this will make any difference, in cooling the wheel/brakes area. Thanks

It's the brake cooling duct. It doesnt really affect perfomance too much seeing as to how most guys use it to fog their airbox.

I love your use of technical terms. Not that I could do any better.

it could. the duct certainly directs more air on the caliper/rotor.

yeah when i reread it, it sounded pretty dumb, but i thought i could communicate better to you guys that way. BTW is the brake cooling duct that big of a deal? i know people drill holes in their to stick the hose in, but will taking that away damage my brakes?

It pukes out in front of the wheel. It's not far enough behind the wheel to really provide much cooling. I believe they stopped put these into production in 1998, appearently it channels additional water to the wheels or brakes.

Thats a very common place for people to run their CAI cone filter, it shouldnt be a problem.

i'm guessing you'd see the side on which you've removed the duct to the brakes warping the rotor faster (if they ever warp). should be an interesting experiment
