Yes fm transmitter is great if you want your music to sound like a radio station and change the channel every time it fades out. I bought the tape for my tape deck untill i buy an alpine hu and compared to my friends fm transmitter it is 500% better. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active

There are control units that replace the CD changer.

i had an fm transmitter...but it wasnt any good...very staticy and not clear at all...now i have an auxillary input wire...but i also had an alpine head unit that i had previous installed so it wasnt a big problem hooking it up __________________ 1995 318ti Active

There are plugs that you can buy that will route the input for the iPod through the CD changer input. Do that, FM transmitter=poop.
