Default Question/Favor for our UK members

Hi,

So, there is a cell phone I would like, the Dell Streak which has been released in the UK. It can be gotten from O2 (though I don't know if you can get it off-contract directly from them) or from the carphonewarehouse.co.uk site. Unfortunately, it appears you need to be in the UK to be able to order from them. With the Streak not being released to the USA until the end of July, I'm not sure I can contain my waiting much longer (I've been waiting since January when I first read about the prototype unit).

So, what is the favor I need? Someone who can buy and ship the phone to me. I paypal you $800 USD - to cover the cost of the phone (429 british pounds) plus shipping, plus a little extra for your help.

Anyone interested?

They're going for about $1100 right now if I were to buy on ebay. If I'm willing to wait until the end of july, I can get it for $500 when dell starts US sales. Since it's selling for $630 off contract in the UK, I figure I can take a slight hit to get it earlier.

Haha, that is awesome. I really should get one of those - all of my friends who know how much of a gadget geek I am will immediately have heart attacks.

Well, now that it's much closer to the US release, I think I'll wait for that and save a couple hundred washingtons.

... or 10 Jacksons.

What are the odds that I'd get to do that one given that "Jackson" is my last name? LOL

$500 for an unlocked phone? People were paying upwards of $700 for the 3GS when it came out. Even months after that, I shelled out $500 to buy it used for my exgf for xmas. A quick search on ebay shows the iPhone 4G is selling for about $900 unlocked.

Now, on contract, it has been heavily subsidized in the UK, free if you get it with a 2 year data + voice plan, and something like $70 USD if you get it on a pay as you go plan.
