Everyone knows it's the REAR half of the ti that's the best! Does this guy buy bananas and eat the peel, too? | | | 12-23-2009, 02:57 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: VIRGINIA Posts: 324 | After skimming through the post (not carefully reading), it sounds like he wants to use the ti rear. "Thanks, I am thinking of getting a 318ti with front end damage, and a 4 door 325i with rear end damage and cutting both in half and having them prfessionally welded together and eventually painted. The 'ti rear end and the 325i front end." | | | 12-23-2009, 04:15 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Columbia MD Posts: 215 | Didn't I see that on Top Gear once...? __________________ *Except 318ti '97 318ti M-Sport '95 M3 BMWCCA | | | 12-23-2009, 04:31 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2009 Location: VIRGINIA Posts: 324 | Quote: Originally Posted by MPWR Didn't I see that on Top Gear once...? | The "stretch limo" challenge, perhaps? Heck I used to race a Mazda Rx3 that had been cut in half after being rear ended by a BMW at about 120. They did it in 1 night and had the car back on the race track the next day. They did it to save the log book, which is tied to the Vin number... Which is on the front clip.. I'd guess you'd cut at the front door jam and windshield A-pillers, Shortest welds and a consistent spot to measure to. would be a cool one of a kind...
