Totalled ti. My ti has 4,700 dollars worth of damage(so insurance says). I say 1300-1500 dollars. They want to total a Clubsport! I said hell no fix it! I was told that a independant company will have to research it to find out what a clubsport is and what it is worth. I am stuck in the middle. I had listed my car for sale a month before the accident for 9000 and now they dont want to pay 9000 or fix it! What can/should I do? I had full coverage __________________ SPEED IS NOT AN EQUATION CONSISTING OF DISTANCE DIVIDED BY TIME. I guess the only thing you can do is some how prove it is actually worth that much and then prove that the damage is not that extensive and if they dont pay then you can sue them. __________________ "Drive Fast and Take Chances" | | | 08-11-2006, 12:50 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Southern California Posts: 456 | i have researched the car and turned in the info to the adjuster. I have reciepts from auto trader ad, documentation from the dealer, other clubsport sale prices/ads, and interested buyers. I dont know what else to do!? I have been told that 9000 is a great deal for my car. (Hard to tell from owners p.o.v.) But car was TITS! Top shape! and everything you could do to a ti short of a frame off resto. and stroke the motor! __________________ SPEED IS NOT AN EQUATION CONSISTING OF DISTANCE DIVIDED BY TIME. When my 98 Sport/California Roof was declared a total loss they based the value as a 98 Base. It was up to me to show them ads for a 98 Sport. The California Roof was easy to add value. Plus all the options. But a 2 year old car is easier to justify the value since there is so much more to work with. I think the best you can do is get what a 95 Sport is worth. Or see what they will give you and then find out what it will be to buy it back. Whatever you do, don't accept a check until you are ready. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 08-11-2006, 01:03 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | It was a Club Sport right? your diff is money. interior is money. | | | 08-11-2006, 01:06 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | Quote: Originally Posted by 1996 328ti It's really tought to prove that it is a rare car. The car was badass! Never even got to put down some decent lap times. The front clip is gone...thats it. Somehow insurance tacked on rear trailing arms, rear suspension (new already), MUFFLER! and so much other crap! __________________ SPEED IS NOT AN EQUATION CONSISTING OF DISTANCE DIVIDED BY TIME. You got bad luck with insurance. First was the M3 and now this. Not to mess up the thread but what is the order in value of the ti's? I know the top TI is the club sport, then whats the order? | | | 08-11-2006, 02:03 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2004 Location: Port St. Johns, Florida Posts: 2,242 | Quote: Originally Posted by m3outtanowhere PanZer...i know that...duh But i DONT want to total one of BMW's least produced car ever...and a rare ti on top of limited numbers. Btw, find the selling prices of CS from all around the country, ads, roundel, etc. That will help cement a decent price if they do total you out. Remember it should be fair market value, and if people are paying 7-12k for club sports, show them proof in print. | | | 08-11-2006, 02:07 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Oakland, baby! Posts: 102 | Your best option? Take the cash payout, buy the car back, spend the 1300-1500 you say it will cost to get it fixed. Yes, you'll have a salvage title, but you'll still have a CS to lay down laptimes with, and some cash in your pocket to do with as you please... It sucks tho... that's a nice car! | | | 08-11-2006, 03:19 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Southern California Posts: 456 | the insurance says: 1. I can have the car and 1200 dollars w/salvage title 2. I can have 4,700 dollars 3. I'm screwed and fix it w/o insurance. Keep title I said: 1. F**K off-pay me 2. I want 9000 3. I want car+damages w/o salvage My insurance adjuster wont budge! At all. On top of it all the quote for the fix was only made so high to total the car (adjuster said so). So on monday i am going to have a new estimate done and i am positive that the damages are under half the value of 4500 dollars(what they say irs worth). SOOoooo i am going to try to get them to cut me a check for 2000 dollars and keep the title. Sound good? Your input would help...i need money __________________ SPEED IS NOT AN EQUATION CONSISTING OF DISTANCE DIVIDED BY TIME.
