Default end to knock sensor problems...!

well as some of you guys know, my knock sensors have been giving me fault codes lately. i think i have now solved the problem.

i noticed the codes came up recently after i fogged my airbox. in a last ditch attempt before paying 600 dollars to get the sensors replaced or trying to do it myself...i unfogged the airbox and returned it to stock.

after driving around for an hour or so, the code has still yet to resurface. while i was getting the code, i would clear it, drive around and 15 mins and it would be back...

after driving around for an hour (well, two seperate drives 30 mins long each), it is looking promising that the fogged airbox modification was the culprit of the fault code.

interesting thought though...in the original fogged airbox article (http://www.mz3.net/articles/149.html), one of the FAQs is wouldnt the mod cause a check engine light? the answer is no...and he claims to have driven 15k miles and not seen a light.

that may be true...but i never saw the light either....i just read the fault code. makes me wonder if fogged airboxes maybe causing the fault codes without triggering the light, and no one knows about it because they dont have a scanner tool?

or possibly the extra air flow from fogging has pointed out other problems that wouldn't have otherwise been seen? who knows.

good troubleshooting though. it'll be interesting to hear from others who fogged and check their codes.
