Exclamation Bogged down (with video)

Scenario: Cruising along at 70 when it seems I'm slowing down but I haven't let up on the gas pedal, so I apply a bit of pressure and no response just continue slowing down til I get to about 45 mph. I get off, pop the hood and do a quick check of fluids and hoses, no obvious problems. Start her back up and no problem, good idle, try to take off and serious bog then stall?? Starts right back up, good idle, balance the gas and the clutch to get going and serious loss of power through all gears, 45 mph max in 5th gear.

The engine revs to about 2500-3000 then a throaty bog takes over and the rpm's drop down, sometimes it will stall the engine other times it will just return to a decent idle but I can hear something is missing in there. I ran the codes and the only thing that came back was a MAF code, the problem is the MAF seems good. Did the usual tests, tap it, run without it no improvement only worse.

Had some parts lying around so I started with what I had. Removed and cleaned the ICV, the fuel filter and been trying to get the O2 sensor off but its stuck pretty good (letting some lubricant do the work overnight), checked for leaks in the intake with carb, nothing. When I get the O2 off I'm going to run without it and see if performance returns, to check the Cat. Tomorrow will do the plugs, wires, etc. Contemplating the CCV, TPS and CPS.

This is my first BMW and the first problem I've had with her since I bought her used a little over a year ago but its got me confused, any and all help from the many gurus around here would be greatly appreciated.

Quick video taken after a start, it idles for a few then around the 8 sec mark I rev it up to around 2500-3000 to get the noise then it returns to idle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-xWA0Grc3s

You've got some noise going on there that sounds like you might need a new timing chain tensioner as well.

I had a similar issue the other day after working on my car. It started ok and ran fine until I got on the gas and did the same thing like the traction control was kicking in or something. It ended up that I had a vacume line come off the fuel pressure regulator for the Downing kit. Ounce it was back she ran strong as ever.
