Default How to Make Your Own Head R&R Tools

I made drawings of the Camshaft locking tool, Flywheel Locking Pin, and Rigid Chain tensioner. I made all of these and used them for my head install, so I know they work.
Here are the parts to make... you'll need 1 of each:

You will need a few metric bolts, etc. These drawings show you what to buy:

Also, you will need an E12 size torx socket to remove the head bolts. I bought a Lisle set at pelican parts so I wasn't stuck with just 1 size (and it's cheaper than the BMW tool).
However the O.D. of the socket wouldn't fit in the area where the head bolts were. I modified the socket as shown here to 17mm OD. It came out beautiful, but you must keep a water dish close by and keep dipping it in so you don't soften the tool.

Default Hey i blew my head gasket last year.

I am just starting out with this head gasket job, and the need for specialty tools is the biggest stick in the works so far. I have never machined metal before and don't know what I would use to do so. Do they make metal bits for a router? I mean you can just saw through metal with a circular saw and a special blade? Would it be possible to purchase one of these tools from you? Being a broke college student I would like to go the cheapest route which usually means making it myself, but if that entails buying bits/ blades/ tools/ supplies/ and taking into account the fact that it may take multiple tries before I have a usable cam locking tool I am at a loss as to what would be the best route. Please Help. Thank You!
