Question Not sure what type of 318ti i have??

Got a newbie question. How do you tell what type of 318ti you have? I bought a 95 318ti this week and I'm not sure what model it is.

Thanks in advance for your help!

It's either a base, active, sport or Club Sport.
One of these days we need to make a flow chart.

First, what size wheels do you have?
You don't have a wide side moulding and rear black valence, do you?

Cruise control?
Sport seats. They have a side bolster and the front extends outwards.

pictures would help us figure it out very quickly.

but what steven said.

seats are a dead give away for sport models.

active models have cruise

wheels if stock help a lot too.

also if you want to submit the last 7 numbers of your vin to mallard he can decode it for you and tell you the factory options.

i posted your last numbers on mallards thread and will send you the results as soon as he replies

and active is the step above base. it has matched side skirts and lower bumper pieces. it has cruise and also the feature to show the time, mpg, miles to travel on your tank, average mph, etc.

and you change that feature by pressing the blinker stock in towards the steering wheel.

Josh some base models have the side skirts painted, well at least my does. I think Seans active model doesn't have his painted, i aint sure but i think so. The basic model is just basic, no cruise control, no sun roof, no rims, no cd changer, and i don't think they come with a stock alarm.

good point. i guess the whole side painting a big spoof. the 95 sport i had didnt have them painted. i think thats for 96 and under they didnt paint the lowers but i could be mistaken. and i know for a fact the 95 sport didnt and the club sport did.

well whatever sometimes its confusing, but yea if it doesn't have cruise control or a sun roof than its a base model.

No problem everyone has questions about their cars, and there's always someone that could answer them here.
