My 1/4 Time

Well guys, i had fun and im surely going back again. I ran a kool 22-26 times tonight. I think i won like atleast a good 14-16times. Here are the cars i remember beating....

CRX
2006 Civic SI (3x)
Integra(2x)
RSX
Few civics here and there
Few civic hatchbacks
240sx
Corolla
Neon
Audi (not sure which one but an AWD one)
Almost beat a caprice but missed 3rd gear

Now the fun part i guess, my time. Keep in mind.. i had full interior, my spare tire, and 18inch wheels which weight 45-50lbs a wheel w/ the tire and the silencer on, on my exhaust (not sure if it woulda helped taking it off anyway)
Well, i kept hitting the same time over and over and over again. 15.5 but my best was 15.3 @89mph and my best reaction time is .019 I never went passed .140 on my reaction times. The part i kept stressing out was my launches. Sometimes i stayed there a little long, sometimes the car would go foward, lose RPMS then catch rpms back. Im def. gonna get an LSD now so this wont happen again. So yea, maybe i woulda done better times with the 15' stock wheels. But whatever, im happy and had fun. Oh and i saw a REAL Skyline GTR, which kicked my ass btw But he did mid 14's which i wasnt to impressed.

Edit: I coulda dropped a good second if my launches were just a little cleaner instead of staying in the same place for a good 2 seconds. I tried launching at different RPMs and some did a lil better and some didnt just do good. I have done one perfect launch before and i couldnt get that launch tonight. But thatll all change with the LSD.

These seem off. I ran a 14.4 @101mph using a G-Tech. I still had the auto tranny too. I would have guessed high 13s with the DASC. Hmm....maybe time to take out the G-Tech again.

The quarter mile times seem a little bit high. You are at sea level and you are supercharged. My sea level time when my car had all the interior in it was something like a 15.4 @ 87 mph.

Working on the launches would help you i'm sure.

Slip the clutch a little longer.

The way i did it was, rev up to 3,500-4,000rpms (cuz i tried different launches) And id completely let go of the clutch, i wasnt removing clutch little at a time. I had great reaction times, but yea the burning out is what had me still there, which was like maybe 2 secs. Trust me, shifting gears wasnt a problem for me at all. The launching is what was killin my seconds.

You think if i got a different clutch, id spin less and launch out faster?

Oh, and i almost lost control towards the finish line in one race. When i was shifting towards 4th, my back tailed a little, i didnt get why?

Well since i ran my car a good 25x, what should i look for? Change of oil or maybe add another quarter of oil in the engine?

If you plan on going to the track often now get yourself a set of mickey thompsons and ditch the stock wheel idea. They sell some that are street/track legal so you don't have to swap your tires out when you get there. My friend is buying a set for his mustang gt for next spring/summer. He as well was just burning the tires through 1st,2nd & some of 3rd gear but 1st was horrible. We thought he would've had great traction by using Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's cause they are basically slicks.


I'm not positive they have tires/rims for bmw's but as long as you can get a set with the 5X120 bolt pattern you should be all set.

They aren't anything special. Maybee if they built it with fiberglass instead of having a 4500lb sports car it would be alot nicer/faster.

who cares about the weight. the engine is easy to build up and have a very well thought out subframe and componets. they are special.

Dropping the clutch is the wrong way to go, thats how you create wheelspin, oss of RPM's, and sometimes broken axles.

Gently even out the clutch and gas when launching. and ditch the 18's brah.

In my opinion 15s. is much time for a supercharger TI, i saw two TI's with not supercharger motor in the 15s, i never run mine on the track but im sure is in the high 13s, Hugo, you install a fuel pressure gauge to check if you FMU is working fine.Those gauge is about $25.00 and the "T" adapter $12.00 from "Moroso", install it in the presure line before the fuel rail, is easy.And you read about 35-40psi without of boost and about 80-90psi in boost conditions., Look my gauge, back in the firewall.
