I always thought about duplicating the scheme but use blue instead of red on the car. You all have probably seen this shot before, but all I had seen on the web were pretty poor quality. According to the magazine, only 10 were built. Some specs: 2.8L block, 3152cc, 86.4 X 89.6 bore and stroke 260HP @ 5900 rpm 333Nm @4400rpm 1315Kg 0-60 5.7 0-100 14.2 0-120 20 50-70 8.5 in 5th top speed 161mph Here's a link to the pic in my gallery http://www.318ti.org/gallery/showpho...puser=863&sl=m | | | 11-30-2005, 03:36 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Delafield, WI Posts: 471 | I never noticed it before today, is that a chunk out of the left rear tire? Don't know if this car was the prototype or not, but by the looks of the tire this car must have been thrashed. | | | 11-30-2005, 04:03 AM | #3 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | I've seen pictures of this ti many times online. Never looked into them at all, don't really like the red pin striping on it. ANd there's no chunk taked out of that tire, looks like a reflection on it to me. __________________ 98 Avus Blue 318 ti Active clear outs all around, stealth turning signals, blue led interior lights, 35% tinted windows,K&N air filter, 12" Kenwood Sub, MTX Thunder Amp,Alpine cd changer, Leatherz Armrest,ACS Pedals/Handbrake/FloorMats & Vitesse Tuning Carbon Fiber B-Pillars/CF Spark Plug Cover, New 16" MSW Typer 14 Rims on Goodyear Triple Treds www.myspace.com/avusblueti | | | 11-30-2005, 04:05 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | Here are a few more shots of the car from my archives. In the original post I said "You all have probably seen this shot before". I was just trying to bee a good guy and share a good quality picture of the car. That left rear tire sure looks like it has a chunk out of it to me, if you look close you can see a line on the tire where the inner wheel arch was touching it. | | | 11-30-2005, 05:02 AM | #6 | aka Stabby Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Mead, CO Posts: 5,336 | not bad looking. i can see why they used red as the highlight - sets off the red taillights. thanks for the pics guys ... __________________ 1996 318ti, California package, 267k miles current mods: bilstein sports, bavauto springs, e30 m3 LCABs, solid metal ball joints, bavauto RSMs w/reinforcements, e30 3.73 LSD & halfshafts, supersprint cat-back exhaust, turner rear sway bar reinforcements, IE poly subframe & RTABs + camber/toe kits, powdercoated e36 32x front calipers, sport mirrors, H&R 28mmF/19mmR sway bars, x-brace, auto solutions SSK w/poly bushing upgrade, BMW CD43 head unit, DICE HD Radio w/iPod integration and "stealth" HD antenna, staggered style 68s, orange electronic TPMS, leather arm rest, JT Designs metal undertray acquired and awaiting install: heated seat kit, cali top switch relo, lumbar support kit, park distance control kit, heated washer nozzle kit, m-coupe rear subframe, trailing arms, differential, and halfshafts, m-coupe front/rear brakes with master cylinder, under hood light kit, mud flaps, rear sun blind, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel retrofit, apexcone 5000K HIDs with 55W ballasts 2002 X5 4.4 Sport Package, 53.5k miles Current Mods: e46 m3 steering wheel | | | 11-30-2005, 05:33 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: MD/VA/DC Posts: 834 | | | | 11-30-2005, 06:12 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Delafield, WI Posts: 471 | Here's some pics from some European car show | | | 11-30-2005, 10:13 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2005 Location: Watford, herts, England Posts: 805 | looks like something that a modern day A-Team might Drive! __________________ '96 318ti in Montreal Blue :m-tec sideskirts,m-bootspoiler,clear corners & repeaters .m-tech side mouldings, Magnex Exhaust System, leather armrest, F-15 gear Knob, 18" Evo 2's.
