Can anyone tell me if all e36 kidney grills are the same? I'm looking to do blackout kidney's and wanted to be sure I bought the right one off of Ebay...I'm sure the e46 kidney's won't work. __________________ 2011 BMW X5d with EVERYTHING on it 2007 Cooper S (6 speed manual) 2001 Eurovan 1997 318ti | | | 06-29-2005, 06:49 AM | #2 | I miss my Ti....... :( Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 828 | Quote: Originally Posted by inlacal Can anyone tell me if all e36 kidney grills are the same? They changed size and shape in 1997. The 1997 drills are bigger and a little more robust. -Chad | | | 06-29-2005, 06:50 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: Calabasas Posts: 187 | 96 grills are larger... Chad...Thanks for the update...I have a 98 ti, so I will look for the blacked-out kidneys for a 98 e36. __________________ 2011 BMW X5d with EVERYTHING on it 2007 Cooper S (6 speed manual) 2001 Eurovan 1997 318ti | | | 01-26-2011, 06:28 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Oakland Posts: 187 | I painted mine an d they look like crap after going to the snow twice. When I order new ones I'm pretty sure I check e36 part numbers and they were differnt than the ti part numbers for kidney grills. Has anyone order grills for a regular e36 and actually had them fit their ti? My car is an inny or pre facelift car... it has big fender markers and inny grills, but also OBD2... | | | 01-26-2011, 05:20 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: MD Posts: 126 | Kuleinc, I have the same deal with my 'ti. '96 was the swap-over year for OBD2, so late model '96's will have the M44, but still use the '95 body parts. So order kidney's for a '95 and you should be fine. | | | 05-21-2011, 10:17 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2010 Location: Southern ME Posts: 22 | so does a 1997 ti use the same kidney gril does any other e 36? | | | 05-21-2011, 10:27 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by bird67 so does a 1997 ti use the same kidney gril does any other e 36? | yes, as long as it's from the correct year range | | | 06-02-2011, 03:20 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | Quote: Originally Posted by Biolite Kuleinc, I have the same deal with my 'ti.
