Has anyone tried or heard of an E46 dashboard fitted on an E36. Is the size different. What about a big E36 Dash, would that fit on the compact? I am trying to modify it because I fitted a DIN 1 size 3.5" screen but the dash is tilted down and you can't see it when driving. Final Idea is for it to be a GPS screen. That would be A LOT less hassle. | | | 01-22-2007, 05:33 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: dorchester Posts: 700 | On a more serious note looking at it id say a def nooooo A. just not worth the hassle or the cost but also the E46 is wider so it just wouldnt work..iv seen a standard E36 dash in a compact but again i still dont think its worth the time or the money..be a damm site cheaper to buy a new screen that will tilt how u want it too... | | | 01-25-2007, 03:28 PM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: uk Posts: 2 | You have to agree with me tho' that it is a stupid design, the down tilt of the actual Compact dashboard. Ok funny chappy, show me a Din 1 tiltable LCD display. I have another idea of swaping the central air blower with the radio Din. I could completely block it, but i don't want to. I need some suggestions on what to use to guide the air down. On a humorous note, I'll put same Angel eyes with rolling lights so i don't have to search to run anyone over, it will be them that will be hipnotised and gather like moths. | | | 03-20-2010, 12:12 PM | #6 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Hungary Posts: 2 | dash Hi. The e36 sedan dashboard is fitting to the compact? I thinking to change it | | | 03-20-2010, 03:32 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: maritimes Posts: 1,433 | it does fit, not easily but there are ways to make it happen. I think the main concern was the center support bar on the passenger side. I dont know much about it though. __________________ 11/97 Base 328Ti | | | 04-20-2011, 06:06 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Westerville ohio Posts: 106 | the e36 sedan dash fits fine. with all supporting hardware underneath. i am in the middle of this swap. | | | 04-20-2011, 12:16 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: MD/PA/DC Posts: 1,629 | __________________ No more ti. | | | 04-28-2011, 10:46 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: SOUTH Jersey Posts: 1,085 | I have a sedan dash too I was supposed to be installing this spring.. and then my saab died... | | | 04-29-2011, 05:55 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Westerville ohio Posts: 106 | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
