Hey all...

I tried grounding Pin#7 its the 2nd one under the Pac-Man > looking
thing, but I can not get these lights to reset.

I tries with the key in position 2 and then the jumper, also with the key
off I put on the jumper then put it in position2, and I tried Multiple grounds Including grounding to the battery...

I have a 1997 318ti.

It should just be, put switch in putition 2, Jupm pin#7 to ground
for 11 seconds, Watch lights go out, replace cap restart car w/o lights.

But for the life of me I cant get it to work, Can I get some help ?!?
Any suggestions, tricks, tips ?!?

thanks.

You might want to find someone locally who has a Peake reset tool. But even that sometimes doesn't reset the SI lights. I tried to reset the oil lights on a friends car and my Peake just wouldn't reset them.

I had the same problem with my Peake. I tried again to reset the lights several weeks later and it worked.

I just reset mine and it didn't want to work at first. I just used a lead from a volt meter. I stuck the pointy end in pin 7, and the fat end (the end that plugs into the volt meter) on pin 19, which is ground. It didn't work the first 3 or 4 times I tried. Finally I jiggled the pin 7 connector and really poked the lead down in and it reset. It must have been slightly corroded or loose. Make sure you read the pins correctly as they are a bit confusing to read on the higher number pins.

Pin 19, signal ground, might work better than using the chassis ground because it is coming from the same circuit. I have the OBDI computer, not II.
