Cool 95 318ti tires on sport suspension

Original owner so I take good care of my 'baby' especially since our kiddo is now driving it.
Husband is getting rid of his ahem POS that has newish 225/50r17.
He's guilting me pretty hard to re use those but I'm not wanting to deal with mph differences, wondering if the brakes will fit properly, etc.

Am I crazy? Thoughts?

Brakes should clear easily on the 17, given the offset is somewhat close. I never had clearance issues even when I had the 330 front brakes installed.

I don't follow-

You have these tires and want to put them on your ti? Or something else?

How do we know the rims? I see no mention of rims; or are we just talking about tires, on the ti rims? (Stock ti sport rims are 16")

Stock rims on my ti now.
He's thinking of taking off the rims and tires from an old subaru and put them on the TI the kiddo is driving.

Okay.

What is the Subaru offset? Compare that to the ti offset. Maybe spacers are needed, maybe not.

225 should fit fine in the rear. I think the front too, but worst case they’ll rub the fender liner.

Iirc Subarus use 5x100 while BMWs use 5x120 bolt pattern so a straight swap won't work.
