Just curious because I am. | | | 11-18-2004, 08:45 PM | #48 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | neko; thanks for clearing that up. i was typing as you were posting ;} and no, i'm not a graphic designer. i just have a friend that works at a shop who would let me use the equipment. | | | 11-18-2004, 08:52 PM | #49 | Member Join Date: Oct 2004 Location: PA Posts: 78 | Oh ok that cool. Currently it is $25/month to host the site and it will go up as we get more active. That does not include licensing fees. And thank you to those who have offered hosting. I'm quite happy with who I am using now. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 11-19-2004, 02:43 AM | #52 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2004 Location: Sydney, Australia Posts: 593 | If you're ever looking to find another host, try www.siteground.com Their plans start from $4 a month with 1GB storage and 10GB data transfer. Doubling the storage or data transfer is only an extra $2 a month. I'm currently moving a forum over there and their support is excellent EDIT: They've just recently doubled the transfer rate to 20GB for the $4 a month plan | | | 11-19-2004, 03:14 AM | #53 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | Quote: Originally Posted by Steven Schlossman Maybe the decals can be sold at a little profit to pay for hosting of 318ti.org? I had an Amazon link and even though people clicked on it, no one bought anything. But maybe it is worth a shot just to have on the home page and that way people can support the site if they make a purchase. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 11-19-2004, 03:49 AM | #55 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Tucson, AZ Posts: 290 | I like the sticker idea, easy way to support the site. Maybe even just a plain "donate" link would provide some support. btw I just randomly noticed that Steve has 666 posts __________________ Vince Carknard 1995 318ti Active Hellrot, 16" 5 spoke, "Fogged" airbox mod, Stromung exhaust, Bilstein Sports, BMW sport springs, 3.73lsd, others... | | | 11-19-2004, 04:17 AM | #56 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | I had to look up when I first registered 318ti.org. The more I search the more programs I am finding. vBulletin and Photo Gallery have licensing fees. It doesn't take much money to keep the site running. I've been doing it for 4 years already. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 11-19-2004, 08:28 AM | #59 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2004 Location: Fort Collins, CO Posts: 290 | But seriously, is there a PayPal acct. where we can toss a couple bucks in to help keep the site running? | | | 11-19-2004, 08:37 AM | #60 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Seattle Posts: 19 | Quote: Originally Posted by Steven Schlossman I'm going to look into affiliate programs. The amount of traffic this site gets will help you determine whether a CPM, CPA, or CPC campaign will work best for you, and there are TONS of advertisers out there so I'm sure you could find something relevant to the site. I've noticed your google ads sometimes appear to be a bit off (like ads for vbulletin software), but I bet you could work a tasteful banner or two into this site | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
