These are the final 2 pictures I like the most of the ti. What do you think? (you have way too much sky and a parking meeter that does not need to be in there) You want to feature the car, not the bridge/sky, so make sure the car is the focus of the photo. If you want the bridge as well, recompose with the car to the left of the frame, and the bridge on the right. You want to create a flow through the picture, just like a painting. Perhaps the eye starts in the bright (or color-altered) sky, down the line of the bridge, across the parking lot, and to the car. Just like in painting class! The car is way too dark and lost in all that brightness. For future reference, use the 'spot metering' feature on your camera and expose for the car. The average/center weighted metering you are currently using (standard default on most cameras) is averaging the light from a bright sky and a dark purple car to try and make an average of mid-gray. You want the car to 'pop', so expose for the car, and the sky will be overexposed (not necessarily a bad thing in this photo) which again draws attention to the car: when there is no detail in the sky, the eye quickly assesses it and moves on (no distraction). Does this make sense? No, to fix what you have, I suggest trying various crops, then play with brightness/contrast. Finally 'unsharp mask' if using photo shop, but only if the details are washed out. Too much detail (like your signature) looks harsh, fake and grainy. Don't over do it! Best of luck. AND, if you doit yourself, you learn how and why as well as having the satisfaction of knowing YOU did it... PS added photo I quickly cropped and played around with. I don't have photoshop here at work,so I had to use the crappy windows editor. I think you get the idea... The main focus of the picture is on the sky and clouds. It shows the nice horizon and it appears as if your ti is taking a break along the shore and look, there are even a few seagulls in the sky! Another picture I like is the 1st one in your 2nd post. It's focused on your ti but you have that palm tree in the background and the green, blue and white sand and clouds helps bring your eyes to the rest of the picture, so that you're looking at the whole picture, not just the car which is a good thing. The 2nd pic in your 1st post would look great if your car wasn't soo dark. I really like how the bridge and clouds look. Also how the sun just breaks through the cloud looks amazing. | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
